Waveney Valley Business Park Incubator Units
After the decline in the dairy industry a family farm ended processing in 2003 and after a couple of years established Waveney Valley Business Park by diversifying into business units using the redundant farm buildings. The Park provided medium size units but saw an increasing demand for start-up size units.
This project will create a new business incubator hub for Bungay under the Waveney Valley brand, converting an existing, disused agricultural building into eight business units to be leased to local micro and small businesses, and with a strong focus on new start-ups. Six of the eight units will be small, business start-up (incubator) units and two will be larger units with potentially longer lease agreements offered. All of the units will be for office and light industrial use. One of the larger units has already been let to Cundy’s Diary, facilitating expansion of their business, moving more into wholesale and offer a greater range of products for delivery to local residents and businesses. Many of the products supplied by Cundy’s Dairy are sourced from local businesses and the expansion will enable Cundy’s to extend support to both existing and new local suppliers.
The style and situation of the incubator units will create a ‘hub’ environment which will bring small businesses together to share skills, network and benefit from mutual customer footfall. The redevelopment will also improve the visual environment, lending itself to an attractive business park where tenants will be proud to invite customers and business associates.
